Wisk’s 2025 Summer Interns Make an Impact

August 27, 2025

Every summer, we welcome dozens of interns to the Wisk team. They work on projects that directly impact our mission to deliver safe, everyday flight for everyone. This summer, our interns contributed to key areas like Conflict Detection and Resolution (CD&R), Vehicle Management Systems, and debugging systems, making tremendous impact long after their internships ends. This summer, we were lucky to work with nearly 30 interns who joined us from across the U.S. and Canada. We sat down with a few of them to hear about their experiences, accomplishments, and favorite memories.

Project Highlights

We asked each intern about a project they’re particularly proud of, and their feedback shows the depth of their work and real-world impact.

  • Advait Shewade, Systems Test Intern: “Leading the testing of a solid-state power controller. I was able to complete the test, and if Wisk uses it, it has the scope to save weight on the aircraft.”
  • Ami Sheth, Supply Chain Business Analyst: “Building standardized operations process documentation for the warehouse team. It felt meaningful knowing I was creating a resource the team could rely on even after my internship ended.”
  • Riya Gupta, Autonomy Flight Systems Intern: “I implemented a system that uses AI to query flight data for my team. It was really rewarding to see it all come together in a meaningful contribution.”
  • Avi Singh, Flight Planning and Contingency Engineer: “Implementing software that will fly on the aircraft.”

Inside the Wisk Experience

Beyond their projects, our interns shared what it was like to be a part of the Wisk team and their favorite moments from the summer.

What’s your favorite part about Wisk HQ?

  • Advait: “The ability to talk to anyone at any time. There are so many smart people here, and working with them has been a great learning experience.”
  • Ami: “The location and the open rooftop. It made the office feel open and energizing, and was the perfect spot for lunch or quick breaks.”

What’s the best part about being a Wisk intern?

  • Riya: “I love the wide variety of experiences. My team encouraged me to try a little bit of everything to learn as much as possible, and I had the opportunity to talk to lots of people on different teams and at different levels of the organization.”
  • Avi: “Getting your hands dirty working on something truly innovative and transformative.”

What’s a favorite memory from this summer?

  • Advait: “When all the interns visited the Hollister facility. It was super cool to see the Generation 6 aircraft!”
  • Ami: “The intern socials were a highlight for me. They gave me a chance to really connect with my peers on a personal level, and those friendships made the summer a lot more memorable.”

Beyond the Office

Our interns also took advantage of the Bay Area’s unique culture and scenery.

  • Ami: “I love trying out all the different food and matcha spots. There’s always a new café or restaurant to check out, so it makes exploring the area a lot more enjoyable.”
  • Riya: “Eating! There’s so much yummy food from all over the world, and there’s no shortage of new places to try when hanging out with friends!”
  • Avi: “Driving to random peaks and beaches and taking pictures.”

We’re proud of the contributions our interns made this summer and the energy they brought to our team. Their work has made a real impact, and we look forward to seeing what they achieve in the future or coming back to work at Wisk after graduation!
